Hmm, as usual, I start with no particular finished product in mind. A lot of tree hollows this week, so I thought I'd do a figurative hollow: the princess who has everything feels hollow without her freedom. Ok, maybe that's a stretch haha.
I'm not sure how the background's going to be (as usual, my worst enemy!) and I kind of jacked up the window vista...For some reason, I couldn't make up my mind about the time of day (of all things!) so it's a mishmash of sunset and daytime...*sigh*
I do like to scan the image in the process, though, so I can see how the composition is going a well as the coloring. Right now I know that I really need to color the sky better.

Oh, gosh... your work is just so beautiful! I love the overall shape of the princess and her expression is just lovely. I really like the window so far - the sky looks great! Gorgeous colors in this piece.
I think this is lovely! Your shading is beautiful! Colors are hardest for me..where to put them, how intense to make them...but you have a great palette here and the vibrancy of the vista is great! Her posture is perfect!
Thank you for your kind words at my blog..it is great to hear from you and I look forward to your future posts!
