I know, ugh, I haven't been putting anything up for a LONG time. I've been working on my photography, so if you want to see that, hie on to http://www.krisfulk.com
This is my *husband's* Illustration Friday submission for Frozen. I've been slacking!

I thought, "caution" hmm, and this is what came to me.
It's a very loose translation lol.

This is from two weeks ago, but I wanted to have something before the week passes by again. I've been experimenting with my style and color (traditional markers, then textures in PS), and mostly posting them on my deviant art page.
I'll be sure to do another one specifically for this week, though ^_^ It'll be posted later this week.

My second painting in 10 years! I had taken an intro class back in senior year HS, and boy, I'd forgotten how tough it was. I'm used to markers and color pencils, so not being able to do a straight line was a nightmare.
There are some funky things happening here: mainly having to do with the girl's figure (geez, that one short leg) - and the fact that her front is supposed to be leaning closely on the boy. A lot of it was lost in translation from my sketch (she was supposed to have one leg tucked up so you couldn't see it, but I had to paint the left shoe in after I was all done because she looked like she only had a leg and a half, see bottom). Hopefully it'll be better next time lol!

(Above) My husband's entry. It's his second painting ever. He doesn't believe in blogs, myspace or facebook - although recently, I got him to tweet. But he only uses twitter when he's gone working away from home. Anyway, that's why I include his entries into my blog. I'm so proud of him for being in touch with his artistic side :)
And this one is my sketch from googling the word "Tango." I basically just wanted to see the movement before I redo it into my style of figures. Hopefully, I'll finish before this week is over :-/

Hmm, as usual, I start with no particular finished product in mind. A lot of tree hollows this week, so I thought I'd do a figurative hollow: the princess who has everything feels hollow without her freedom. Ok, maybe that's a stretch haha.
I'm not sure how the background's going to be (as usual, my worst enemy!) and I kind of jacked up the window vista...For some reason, I couldn't make up my mind about the time of day (of all things!) so it's a mishmash of sunset and daytime...*sigh*
I do like to scan the image in the process, though, so I can see how the composition is going a well as the coloring. Right now I know that I really need to color the sky better.
